In medicine, Amyloidosis is a clinical disorder caused by extracellular abnormal deposition of insoluble abnormal fibrils (amyloid proteins with low molecular weight ) that injure tissue.
The fibrils are formed by the aggregation of misfolded (an alteration in its secondary structure), normally soluble proteins.
Symptoms vary widely depending upon the site of amyloid deposition.
